flyp_iconFlyp is a downloadable app for Android and iOS smartphones that gets users up to 6 different phone numbers on just one handset. It is a good solution for you if you are on tight budget but you still do not want to use your personal numbers for business work. It works with US numbers. Flyp is absolutely free to install for the first number. You get an opportunity to test this service even before you fully commit to it. With the first free number, you get 100 minutes of calls, unlimited text messaging and basic voice mail setting. This is enough to test whether the test works well for you.

Flyp charges for second number onwards beginning per month with the annual budget per line reaching $30. When you add other numbers, it is considered to be a premium service. This price might seem high but it is cheaper than cost of adding a new line to current cellular plan and the trouble to carry a second phone.

The premium numbers include a host of appealing features including personalized voice mail, 500 outbound minutes and ability to choose your area code. These offers and frequency at which you use the numbers make the App to be worth its cost. Flyp plans to add more features soon. The additional features will include group calling, number porting, international calls and texts

Flyp’s quick reply option’ enables you to prioritize incoming calls. This is a premium numbers offer. When you get a call, Flyp sounds off a proprietary ringtone giving you option to answer a call, direct it to voicemail or defer it to pre-programmed voice message that is played to a caller. With premium numbers, you can set your pre-recorded messages that fit your business needs. Settings allow users to activate “do not disturb” feature designed to enforce business hours.

You can use Flyp with different numbers for varying purposes and also make calls from within it. Call on the receiving end will show that they are made from a Flyp number. The app also has “import contacts” feature for pulling numbers in from existing list of contacts so that you do not operate from memory.

With Flyp, you can choose your area code if it supported as this app does not support all US area codes. You however get an opportunity to determine if your planned area code is available on the app before you upgrade. Additionally you get an option to create personalized outgoing voicemail greeting that lets the people to know when they reach right place if you are unable to pick their calls.

Flyp like any other app has positives and negatives that can be summarized thus:

Pros

  • Provides new numbers instantly
  • Free first number
  • Affordable yearly cost for premium numbers

Cons

  • Only works with US based numbers
  • Does not work for some area codes
  • No support for MMS, Google Voice and Virtual numbers

Flyp is worth a try because it offers a more affordable solution for multiple numbers that the other higher end solutions.
