Luna League Soccer: iphone game review

Before downloading the game make sure that you have sufficient space in memory and good working Wi-Fi coverage. The game is much more than 100 Mb. Well, good graphics and gameplay require that.

I have tried hundreds variations of soccer, however playing soccer in the fantasy world with anime characters is a unique experience. The Luna League Soccer offers you this very opportunity. Speaking in anime terms it is a sentai/apocalyptic plus Vikings universe. If you are a FIFA 2014 fan you can try this game and perceive it as a funny arcade. I did enjoy the game though I am well beyond 30 years old. The game has detailed menu with a nice choice of languages, by the way the language settings are automatic.

The game plot is rather simple: there are two teams playing against each other, you need to hit the ball into the rival’s gate, which seems challenging even for an experienced e-soccer player. There are five levels of complexity starting with Novice and progressing to the Soccer Legend. The player has an option of choosing teams and fields. Landscapes are dazzling and game characters look extravagant. Since the game has built in purchases I assume very soon the player will have an option to buy new fields and balls. Try ice soccer field! The disposition of the characters can be adjusted by the following schemes: 1-2-3, 1-4-1, 1-3-2. Moreover every character can be upgraded by strength and speed, which is a fee based services as well. You get achievement bonus for every 50 touchdowns (goals in soccer terms) and for five consecutive wins. Nice implementation of penalty hits. Very realistic sound of judge’s whistle. Every round duration can be set at two, four or six minutes. Visual effects are rather amazing, however I did not understand the falling leaves, and they really do not let you concentrate on the gameplay.

At the very beginning the app offered me a purchase to unblock the game. Frankly speaking I have not completely understood what I will get after the purchase. The game has a nice soundtrack which inspires for a high speed gaming. Game control is clear and concise. It has left and right handed options. Game has both control options: touch pad and through the gyro sensor. Sound volume and effects can be adjusted right from the control menu. Game has detailed graphics and plays well on IOS 8 both on IPhone and IPad, however as always any game is much better to be played on IPad.

I generally liked the game, developers did a great job, and however there is always field for improvements. I would like to see the characters running over the field, rather being static and passing ball to each other. The field seems pretty small and there is no function of the whole field overview. It would be nice to upload your own soundtrack as well. Luna League Soccer could be a nice time killing game with a multiplayer option. To get the full impression of the game it would be nice to have a trial period with a full access to the game.
