Elemelons – Game Review

Elemelons is all about swiping and swiping. If you thing you are good at swiping then this game is for you. Elemelons is easily available at Apple App Store for Iphone and Ipad. Elemelons is an interesting color matching puzzle game which has a humorous back story, where four elements are turned into melons in order to punish human race for its vanity on social networks. In ‘discover’ section, you can even read the back stories of the four melon characters separately.

Elemelons is all about matching colors with their corresponding color. Elemelons starts with four different color stationary melons that require being swiped towards their corresponding correct color wall. There are four different colors on each side of the screen and you simply need to swipe the melons towards the correct color.

Initially, it seems quite an easy task to swipe but soon it gets tough when you have so many melons appearing at once. Redirecting melons to their correct colored sides gets challenging when the game quickly speeds up. Things get more hectic as melons can bounce with one another which ultimately directs them to the wrong direction. As game keep going, chances of making mistake keep increase. The concept of Elemelons is nice and well translated. This game is quite addictive and time eater and you would play it hours in hope to break your record score. Elemelons is a small game with a size around 35MB. The plot of this game is just matching colors that’s why there in no need of high-quality graphics. But I personally admire the creator of this game Von Andrea Probst who made the elements of this game more detailed and color selection of characters is also remarkable which add a certain charm to the game.

Elemelons also included Game Center Leaderboards, here you can see where you actually stands globally. One more thing I like in this game, you can take selfie along with the characters at the end of the play session and can directly share it with your friends through social media to earn one extra life.

As I mentioned above, Elemelons is free to download and play. Although, In-App purchase exists if you want additional lives but you can get an extra life just by sharing your selfie, so I personally feel that there would be no need to make such purchases. The graphics are simple and gameplay is easy, however, sometimes this game lag. That’s the biggest con for this game as there’s nothing more frustrating than a lagging game which prevents you from achieving high scores. I think this issue would be correct in future updates.

Pros :

• If you are fond of swapping games, then Elemelons is for you.
• The size of this game is small so it is also your smartphone friendly.
• Elemelons is easy to play, tricky, addictive with cool graphics. Along with graphics, sound effects is also pretty much amazing.

Cons :

• The only con that I experienced in Elemelons is there is some kind of lag while swiping melons sometime. This lag seems more frustrating when you are about to set a new high score. Well, I hope such issues would be cover in next update.

Final Verdict:

Overall, this game is amazing. A cool looking game with good sound effect and excellent presentation makes it a must play game. Elemelons is quite addictive there are leaderboards where you can compete for High Score globally. If you are looking for a puzzle game then you should definitely give it a try.
