Gelling Akeakami Teamwork – App Review

Akeakami- Teamwork is a fun game designed to promote teamwork. The game has you play as a member of the Akeakami tribe, along with other players in your team. You must work together to complete the game’s objectives with the eventual goal being to find all the crystals of life to restore the island. The game is very effective in the way that it inspires teamwork. It forces you to trust and work with other people to play effectively. Let’s not forget to mention how fun this game actually is. I found myself playing with my teammates for hours and hours before one of our team members had to leave to attend to some urgent work. It’s really addictive and challenging. The pretty graphics of the game a sight for sore eyes.

The game is intriguing and innovative right from its concept. A game which is fun to play, and builds rapport among team members, at the same time, can have vast applications in several industries where teamwork is synonymous to productivity. Several scientific studies have consistently found that feelings of camaraderie and trust foster when people have to work together, for their common good. It’s no surprise then, that after a few sessions of me, and my team, playing this game, we were able to accomplish more than we thought we were capable of. New lines of communication opened up and productivity doubled.Well, those are the ways in which playing the game helped me but let’s talk a bit more about the game itself.

When opening up Gelling: Akeakami for the first time, you’ll be greeted by the well designed UI which prompts you to sign in or create a new account. Sign up was very simple, I just plugged in my email and made a password and I was good to go. Next, you have the option of creating or joining a team. I created a new one, named it “Arcanea” and gave it a suitable password. I then found myself looking at a screen with several options from tutorial and level select to character select and statistics. I clicked tutorial and witnessed the game’s awesome graphics for the first time. I was transported to a lush valley. Here, the game taught me how to move, jump, pick up and throw objects. The controls are quite intuitive with big, easy to press buttons for each of the actions. The game is essentaily about solving platforming puzzles with your team works in exotic locales.

Completing levels is really fulfilling and rewarding and brings you one step closer to restoring the island to its former gloryThere are several, well-animated characters for both, male and female likeness, that you can choose from to convey your identity in the game. They can be changed anytime from the “Character Select” option in the main menu

Pros:

Cons:

Having to sign in to your account and team every time you open the game can be annoying.Verdict:All in all, Akeakami is a really fun, multiplayer, team-based, survival game which is enjoyable to play with friends and co-workers alike. The variety of content and locations and addictive gameplay mean you won’t be able to put this game down anytime soon after starting it.
