The IMEI Checker Pro is an application, available in the app store which basically does the whole detective job in for us in buying our phones. The IMEI number of a device is a unique serial number allotted to every smart phone by it’s company to keep track of it, and can be found on the box your phone came in. This application allows you to enter the IMEI number of the phone you wish to buy, and searches all the intricate details for you regarding the device. The app searches if your phone can be used on any carrier, was ever reported stolen before, the model of your phone, it’s initial carrier and even the warranty status of your phone. In addition to all these, now, the app also searches the iCloud status of the phone, and whether it’s locked or unlocked. Without the availability of this information, it is possible for someone to sell us a stolen phone or a phone which may not support the carrier we use.

As soon as the application is opened, it requires an account to sign in with. You can select your FaceBook, Gmail, or any other account. After you login, you are taken directly to a screen which asks whether you wish to immediately check an IMEI or if you would like to buy some credits first.

Up till now, one of the only two difficulties in this application is having to purchase credits in order to proceed. Every piece of information that your search for requires at least 1 credit which you are supposed to buy online. It would have been better if the application granted a free credit at the beginning to let the user know how well it works, but that is not how it works. When you tap the option saying ‘IMEI Checker’, you are taken to a list of all the checks which this application provides you with. And to check each one of them, you need to spend 1 credit. The other difficulty with this application is that you need internet connectivity to use it. This poses a problem because it is not always possible to get internet connectivity at all times and you may not have it when you are buying your phone.

However, it is true that this application is an all gainer for all iPhone users around the world. Not only is it beneficial for buyers all around the world, but also for those who buy phones and then sell them as a business. It saves you from encountering problems later with your phone specially if it is stolen. And it also saves you the money you could lose on buying a useless phone. Without any doubt, this application is a great help for us.
